| Resumo | The implementation of hydropower plants would bring significant changes in the balance of systemic unit, represented by the watershed, and that involve physical, biotic and anthropic processes. Of the components of the system in question, the vegetation requires special attention, because this vegetation, along the rivers and around the reservoir, is known as Areas of Permanent Preservation (APP). This paper presents a study based on analysis of images from satellites Landsat 5 and 7, referring to the area around the reservoir of Hydropower Plant Lajeado. The purpose of this paper was to analyze changes regarding the configuration of APPs, into four distinct periods, which lie between the years 2000 and 2010, before and after the implementation of the hydropower plant. To develop the work has relied on CONAMA Resolutions n°. 302 and 303 of 2002 which concerns the APPs and the Plan of Conservation and Multiple Use Reservoir of Hydropower Plant Lajeado. The results showed, in both, APP reservoir and the areas defined by Plan of Conservation, the forests occupy a very small percentage of APPs, indicating that human activities, mainly agriculture and grazing, are exerting heavy pressure on areas of preservation. The highest percentages of forests in recovery were recorded in 2003, shortly after the implementation of the plant. In general, we can say that there is a conflict of use and occupancy in around the reservoir, and there is disrespect for the laws in effect and established by the Plan for Use and Conservation. |
